Publication bias on drug trials can be misleading

Live healthy and long

From Dr. Mercola archives | February 10, 2013

What is publication bias?  It is publishing studies that favor the drug being tested positively.  There is a trend being noted that publication of drug trials funded by the industry.  In 2010 for instance,500 trials that were privately funded showed 85% favorable results;  the government funded tests showed only 50% positive results.

Other observations:

l.  The negative tests are not published;

2.  Reason, negative test results are not paid;

3.  Some of the test results are not replicable (scientfic study is supposed to be replicable)

4.  The so called studies are used as basis by the medical profession for prescriptions of drugs to their patients.

Ben Golrace said this in his TED talk at you tube.

If this is the case, the health of many patients could be at risk.  Thus patients, and everyone is advised to be responsible for his own health.  Consider this health risk in MD's prescription
