Disease Name Misleading; Does not Lead to Proper Cure and Research

Effective Cures Can be Cheap

This came from an article in ASH written by Mike Adams entitled " Disease Name Game"  As in the recent blog post that DX could be made better, naming the diseases could be made better too.  In the Chinese medicine, the name of the disease indicates the cause.  Knowing that the approach to the cure could be clearer, the treatment protocol more relevant.

Cause and effect relationship

Thus for instance, osteoporosis which is described as a disease  "caused by weakening of the bone"is actually a symptom;   the cause is not indicated in the name. What actually causes osteoporosis -  you guess it calcium deficiency.

Or diabetes.  We are entirely clueless as to what the name means.  If it were termed as Excessive Sugar in the Body Disease, then the cure would be to avoid sugar food, and to lower the blood sugar level.  Diabetes?

Or the cancer name which describes the uncontrolled growth of malignant cells.  Thus the cure is to remove the cancer mass or tumor, but it does not describe cause.  And in the end, not knowing what the cause is, the disease over the years of health care does not get controlled nor the methods or protocol improve.

Or atheriosclerosis,  or hyperlipedimia which describes the hardening of arteries and occlusion of the blood vessel lumen;  the second one is about elevated lipids or cholesterol level.

Go to the cause;  do not mask the symptom

Using fever as an anology, the fever is not the disease but a symptom so it is enough that the fever be masked with analygesic antipyretic;  the cause, an infection must be discovered and removed by medication of anti biotics.  That is the logical wise disease management protocol that must be followed.

Yet for the chronic lifestyle disease, the symptoms are the ones being treated;   not the cause.  For high elevated BP, most of the treatment focus on lowering BP, the symptoms.;  for cancer, the tumor and not the cause is treated.  And so with medical research;  the cure for the symptoms are the center/focus of research, not the cause.

Mike Adams suggests that the disease name game improve to improve diagnostics and disease cure.

What do you think;   the cook country hospital that correct recognition of the disease improve cure rate significantly without additional resources?  The disease name directs the MDs  mindset and observation and focus

Needless Expenses Suffering and Death by Sick Americans

ASH released the following statistics at their newsletter feed;  I was shocked.

l.  Bankruptcies from medical bills.  About 50% of bankruptcies in the USA are from medical bills.  350t Americans went bankrupt due to medical bills.  In the face of unemployment, US financial crisis, this is difficult for many Americans.  What bankruptcies despite health insurance?  That is what the newsletter, the ASH newsletter said.

2.  Leading causes of deaths: (as of 2007, US National Health Statistics)

     Heart Disease       -  652t

     Cancer                  -  553t

     Stroke                   -  153t

     All Accidents       -  112t

     Diabetes               -  73t

This does not include iatrogenesis, death caused by wrong diagnosis, treatment or medication which could total 800t in a year.  Over a ten year period, the statistics is close to 7 million.

3.  Medical expenditures.

     Americans spend annually about  $2.3 trillion on their medical bills:  hospitalization procedures, diagnosis and medication.

4.  2002 Revenues of Pharmas

         Merck            -  $47.7 Billion

        Pfizer              -   32.3

        GSK               -    29.5

       Bayer               -   27.1

       Bristol Myers   -   2l,7

  The non pharmas were:

       Cardinal health      - 47.9 billion

      United Health         - 23.4

The wall street and other investment bankers have identified as a growing industry, will generate more jobs and profits than any other industry during these difficult times.

What do you think of these figures.?

Is it not anomalous that there is lot of expenses, and yet a lot of people still die from lifestyle diseases?  Has the US health care system fulfilled its mission despite the enormous resources spent? Isnt there some kind of inhumanity here?  One industry profiting on the death of millions of people

Would there be lesser expenses if everybody worked hard to find the root causes of lifestyle diseases, and prevented them instead (rather than cure, as what Dr. R. Willix is advocating)

Isnt it that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?

Isnt it anomalous that pharmas rake in billions, and yet hundreds of thousands of Americans, despite the health insurance are bankrupted by medical bills?

Effective Cures Can be Cheap

I just got a feed from ASH.  What in the hell is ASH?

It was founded in l997 by a Georgian Real Estate developer who was about to undergo a 4th bypass.  Fearing for his life, he walked away and fired his heart surgeon.  Barney Folger did away with the $50t prescribed bypass operation and instead opted for vitamins and minerals that cost l/10th of l % of the amount needed for the surgery.  ASH was co founded by:  Vickie Barker,  and Evie Robertson.

ASH believes in reversing chronic debilitating diseases and is founded on three principles:

l.   Collagen matrix.  The body is supposed to take care of itself by producing enough collagen.  But sometimes they lack causing inflammation or plaques.  However use of more ascorbates would remove the plaques.  No surgery or other procedures can remove the plaques.

2.  Acid Alkaline imbalance.   There is rapid multiplication of cells (cancerous) in acidic situation.  making the environment alkaline reverses the growth of the cells. There is no surgical procedure  or drug to reverse this balance.

3.  Hormonal balance.  When we are young our body produces much STH  somatrophin and makes our body grow;  and lower insulin .   As we grow, STH lesser, and insulin increases and we become fatter.  There is no procedure nor drug to correct this imbalance.

This three foundation of orthomolecular health is founded on the work of the following doctors, most them laureate:

Dr. Linus Pauling (l90l- l990) -  treating the disease at the molecular level,  the father of Vit C therapy useful for heart and even cancer therapy.

ASH, Barney Folger and company want to put a stop to chronic diseases:  cancer,  diabetes, through nutrition, and the right to know about our diseases and their causes.

Dr Otto Warburg (1883 -1970) a Nobel Prize winner;  discovered in l93l that cancer cells grow in low oxygen  and acidic environment. Oxyenation can treat cancer.

Dr Keith Brewer (1893- 1986) Cancer cells exist in acidic environment.  This led to the development of cesium theraphy.
