Since the  proper functioning of vagus nerve is essential to your well being and long life it is important to take care of this...  The vagus nerve connects the parasympathetic and sympathetic system; This is the most important nerve of the body it connects, liver, brain, kidney, reproductive system

Some methods:

1.  Say ahh ohhh several time so that the sound resonates in your chest;

2. Take a cold shower or splash water in your face; wash your feet with cold water in the morning

3. Alternate cold and hot water

4. Chant

5. Gargle water

6.   Hold your breath for 3 seconds and inhale again  (Done often in yoga)

7. Laugh

8. Fasting

9. Get a massage.

10. Do a yoga

11. Have a diet with probiotic

Having proper functioning of your vagus nerve can help you heal your tinnitus (ringing of the  ear which many EENT say has no cure)

What are natural cheap cures for arthritis of the hip?

I was asked by a fellow biker, more senior than I am who asked for advice because for the past 2 weeks he has been rendered immobile by arthritis of the hip.  I told him what I have read so far:  take strawberry and blackberry (duhat) and may be chili pepper (eat more chili pepper)

I read about Deepak Chopras advice on the affliction.

He advised:  yoga,  range of motion exercise, food that are anti inflammatory like apple, grapes garlic, onion, turmeric, extra virgin olive oil, orange/yellow vegetables and fruits.   Topical analgesics are recommended:  aspirin, ibuprofen to avoid hurting the stomach and avoid blood reaction.

Topical application of capsaicin (chili pepper active ingredient) is advised.

Other cheap cure include taking apple cider vinegar  (ACV) mixed with water (from Earth Clinic )  Try it.

Many senior Americans do not get enough exercise (or visit the gym)

I met a senior citizen today who said he is joining a triathlon.  I cant now.  I hate the swimming part.  But I can do the bike and the running part.

The seniors can do strength training, high intensity interval training or engage in yoga.

Benefits of exercise are:

l. Improved sleep;

2.  Preventing falls and fractures;

3.  Improved mood and mental health;

4.  Reducing risk of medical condition as heart disease, dementia, Type 2 diabetes depression, cancer and other types of premature death

It is never too late to exercise.  I have seen plenty of senior citizen and converse with them, over 60 who can still bike up Antipolo and are very strong (ehem like me)
