From Sott Heart Surgeon speaks the truth about heart disease

Inflammation, not cholesterol is the cause of heart disease

From Dr Hyman, sugar not eggs cause heart attacks

By Dr. Dwight Lundell
Prevent Disease
March 1, 2012

The article was written heart surgeon. He has done 5,000 or so heart surgeries and is considered an opinion maker.  The long held belief for heart health, is that we need to lower cholesterol level, have a low fat diet, as this is the cause of heart disease. About 25% of the American population take statin medications, but despite this: 75 million suffer from heart disease, 20 million have diabetes and 75 million have pre diabetes. He says it is time to correct this misconception as this does not work.  The current findings is that inflammation of the arterial wall is the real cause of heart disease.

Blood would flow freely in our blood vessel if there were no inflammation.

What is inflammation?

What are the 7 poisonous drugs that the govt wants the masses to take?

Live healthy and long

Repost from Health Science Institute

These are the 7 drugs that the govt has approved for consumption of the general public but could be poisonous. Statins contribute to memory loss and risk of diabetes.  Celebrex can cause heart attack. Those who take sleeping pills are 5x more prone to die than those who dont.

Some anti diabetic drug has been linked to bladder cancer and heart failure

Anti cancer drugs are known for serious side effects:   baldness, vomitting, loss of appetite, and destruction of healthy cells.

There are some alternatives that HSI point out:

DBX 13 for weight loss and lowering of cholesterol, a sugar escort, twice as effective vs pharma anti diabetic drug

H-86 as new anti cancer treatment without serious side effect

The Latest Side Effect of Cholesterol Drugs

Statins increase the risk of strains and sprains. So what is going to be:  muscle strains and sprains or high cholesterol?  Are there other drugs beside statins that can cure/lower cholesterol level.  But it is not all about cholesterol;  it can be about inflammation

The Latest Side Effect of Cholesterol Drugs
Dear Jorge,
Have you noticed a little added soreness after you started taking cholesterol medication? If you have, you're not alone.
A recent study confirms people taking popular cholesterol drugs called statins (such as "Lipitor" and "Zocor") are at an increased risk of suffering muscle and joint problems, while experiencing a greater incidence of strains and sprains. Statins are used to regulate cholesterol and prevent heart disease.
The study looked at roughly 14,000 active U.S. soldiers and veterans and their susceptibility to muscle and joint problems. Researchers selected this cohort because they are typically active individuals who may be a little more prone to injury than the average citizen. In general, people who play sports or live active lifestyles are more prone to strains and sprains.
Participants taking statins for cholesterol were 19% more likely to suffer musculoskeletal problems than non-users and 13% more likely to suffer dislocations, sprains, or strains.
It's unclear why this happens but it appears statins weaken muscles and joints, making them more susceptible to injury. That being said, if you're currently taking a cholesterol drug like Lipitor you should remain on it. The benefits to your heart outweigh the risk of a sprained ankle or strained back.
However, if you don't absolutely need statin drugs to improve your cholesterol or are relatively healthy, it's wise to avoid them. They are relatively new on the scene and the potential side effects are still not fully understood. Taking the drugs without an immediate need might cause unforeseen problems and, as usual, more details will emerge as more research is conducted.
If you're taking one of these drugs, I recommend finding ways to limit injuries. I'd never suggest ceasing all activity, because exercise and movement is good for your muscles, joints, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems, but I would pay careful attention to what you do and how you do it.
Research shows light walking, in excess of 90 minutes per week, can ease joint pain in people with arthritis. Light exercise loosens up the joints and makes them more flexible and less prone to locking up. Try doing some light exercise, like walking, to improve your condition.
---
By the way...

If arthritis is keeping you from doing even these light, low-intensity exercises, then you have to read our latest report 17 Natural Ways to End Your Arthritis Suffering for Good.
It reveals the little-known, but highly effective alternative remedies to end your arthritis pain, including a summer fruit that can banish inflammation. Click here for more information.
---
Before starting your exercise, however, it's important to protect yourself from the risk of strains or sprains. Make sure your walking shoes have thick, even soles. Worn, uneven soles can increase the risk of rolling an ankle or a fall. Make sure your shoes fit well and are not too constricting around the foot or cause your foot to slide around, too. Walking on even ground can also reduce the risk of a fall.
Eating a balanced, healthy diet can also reduce the likelihood of sprains and strains. A proper diet ensures the right nutrition to help the body function optimally and resist injury. Furthermore, be sure to stretch out before exercise so your muscles are limber.
In health,
Helen Martyre

Unexpected Health Risk by Watching TV ads on statins

Live healthy and long

From Dr. Mercola archives  | March 20, 2013

USA is only one of the few places in the world where TV ads on statins is allowed.  The downsides:   those who watch TV ads on statins are 16-20% more likely to be diagnosed with high blood cholesterol (power of thinking). The other is that the millions on the TV ads are borne by drug buyers.

Now it has been analyzed that 99% of those on statin drugs do not need the drugs to be healthy.  The forever tips/guidelines of Dr. Mercola:

1.  Eat healthy food;

2.  Make water your primary beverage;

3.  Exercise regularly

4.  Eat healthy fat;

5.  Get plenty of sunshine and Vitamin D

Fwd: This "Dangerous Toxin" Boosts Your Brain Health

Cholesterol is not entirely bad;  maybe the scientists made a mistake. Losing the cholesterol zaps memory.  And statin is the culprit.

Conventional thinking which made us believe that high cholesterol causes heart disease is not very conclusive.

There are 2 types of cholesterol:  LDL -  the villain, and HDL - the good cholesterol. the cleaners..  HDL level can be increased by:

l.  Eating red meat (it contains COQ10)
2. Drink cocoa
3.  Eat more eggs
4.  Avoid smoking
5.  Exercise
6.  Get omega 3 esp found in fisth
7.  0 alcohol.
8.  Red yeast rice.

Subject: This "Dangerous Toxin" Boosts Your Brain Health

Discovery Health Publishing
Dear Jorge Saguinsin,
"Lower your cholesterol" has been the #1 health advice for 20 years or more. The battle against cholesterol has been so aggressive, by 2010, 32 million Americans were taking statins, the drugs designed to lower cholesterol.

That's one out of every four Americans over the age of 44.

According to the latest numbers, we may be winning the battle. But we're losing the war. Because the battle against cholesterol may be doing you more harm than good.

Today, I'll show you why you need cholesterol, especially in your brain, and how to sidestep the devastating effects of modern medicine's favorite heart drug.

I'll also show you how to easily balance your cholesterol without drugs or other "solutions" that may make your heart even weaker.

Your Brain NEEDS Cholesterol

With all the anti-cholesterol hysteria, you'd think it was a dangerous toxin. But, in fact, it's an essential building block within your body.

Cholesterol is an essential element of every cell membrane in your body. You need it to form hormones such as testosterone. And it's an important element of the myelin sheath - the protective fatty coating on nerve cells.

Myelin insulates nerve cells - including your brain and spinal cord - from other tissues.

So cholesterol is critical for nerve system health. And a new study shows just how important it may be.

Researchers looked at mice with a rare and fatal disorder called Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease (PMD). PMD causes over-production of a protein that binds cholesterol.

The disease prevents normal growth of the myelin sheath. Sufferers lose coordination, motor control and intellectual functions.

The researchers fed diseased mice a cholesterol-enriched diet. The extra cholesterol stopped the disease's progression. The extra cholesterol helped the mice make up for what was missing because of the PMD.1

The study offers new hope to people with a devastating illness. But it also highlights how important cholesterol is to your brain health.

But the over-prescription of statin drugs may be putting that health at risk.

The Big Statin Con Job

According to experts at Oxford University, only about 1 in 400 people has a hereditary condition that causes high cholesterol. Virtually everyone else should be able to control their cholesterol without drugs.

You see, your body needs bile acid to digest fat. The more fats and oils in your diet, the more bile acid your body produces. And guess what your body needs to make bile acid?

Right... cholesterol. So eating a lot of fat and oil in your diet triggers cholesterol production. Cut out the fat and oils, and your need for cholesterol goes down.

According to the Oxford scientists, that may be all that's needed for most people to lower their cholesterol to acceptable levels.2

So why are 32 million Americans taking statin drugs?

In a word: money. In 2010, two of the ten top-selling drugs in the U.S. - including #1 - were stating drugs. These two statins alone accounted for $11 billion in sales.

No wonder the drug companies want everyone to take statins! Whether they need them or not.

And whether it's healthy or not. Because statins may pose some serious health risks.

When the Cure is Worse than the Disease

Statins block production of cholesterol. And we've already seen that cholesterol is critical to your health. If that were the only problem with statins, it would be bad enough. But it gets worse.

Statin drugs also lower your levels of CoQ10.

Your body uses CoQ10 to produce energy at the cellular level. It's especially important for muscle health. Including the health of your heart.

In a major study, researchers expected to see statins improve the condition of patients with chronic heart failure. But they didn't.

A later analysis revealed the likely problem. The stain drugs had lowered the patients' CoQ10 levels by an average of 20%.3 In essence, the statins left the patients' hearts starving for an essential nutrient.

If you take statins, you probably won't feel the drop in your CoQ10 levels. But you very well may feel muscle pain and weakness. Studies have shown that up to 98% of statin takers experience muscle problems, depending on dose.4

Sometimes, this muscle weakness and pain develops into full-blown rhabdomyolysis - a severe breakdown of muscle tissue that can lead to kidney damage. When this happens, your muscle cells burst open and release their contents into your blood stream, which clogs your kidneys and can actually kill you.

But that's not all. Research also suggests statin use may also lead to...
  • Dizziness, due to a drop in blood pressure
  • Memory problems and mental confusion
  • Neuropathy - Weakness, pain or tingling in the hands and feet
  • Congestive heart failure (CHF)

That's right. An analysis of studies reveals statin drugs may be involved in the rising number of cases of CHF. The reason? The first side effect I mentioned: statins lower CoQ10.5

And finally, going back to memory problems... an MIT researcher has linked statin use to Alzheimer's disease!

According to the researcher, the evidence shows a low fat diet and statin use combine to significantly raise your risk of Alzheimer's.6

But you don't have to accept this bad news for your brain. Because there is an answer. And it's a lot safer than drugs.

Fight Fire with Fire:
Boosting the "Good" Cholesterol to Fight the "Bad"

The answer to cholesterol is more cholesterol.

As you may know, your body makes several types of cholesterol. But it makes mostly two types: LDL and HDL.

LDL is the building block. It's built into cell membranes and nerves. If you don't have enough, your body can't function. But excess LDL can oxidize - and this is what can clog your arteries.

That's why you have HDL cholesterol. If LDL is the building block, HDL is the cleanup crew. HDL cholesterol removes excess LDL from your bloodstream. It's a natural balance. And it's the secret to keep your high cholesterol under control.

High LDL cholesterol is less of a health issue than low HDL. Because when your HDL levels are high enough, LDL poses little problem.

And it's easy to raise your HDL levels...
  • Eat red meat. Eating lean red meat regularly raises HDL cholesterol while lowering LDL. Organic, grass-fed beef and lamb are best.
  • Boost your CoQ10. Taking CoQ10 supplements will raise HDL. For the biggest effect, take the ubiquinol form, which is more bioavailable.
  • Drink cocoa. Organic, unsweetened cocoa is actually healthy. One of it's effects is boosting HDL cholesterol.
  • Eat more eggs. You've probably heard that eggs raise cholesterol. And they do. But research shows they have a minimal effect on LDL cholesterol. What eggs boost are levels of healthy HDL cholesterol.
Finally, here are a few other ways to boost your levels of HDL cholesterol:
  • Get more Omega-3 fats - especially those found in fish
  • Eat nuts that contain healthy fats - such as almonds and walnuts
  • Be more active and lose excess weight
  • Don't smoke and drink alcohol only in moderation
Following these simple guidelines should be more than enough for most people to control their cholesterol. And avoid the dangers of the drugs that could wreck your health, your heart and your brain.
Wishing you strength and vitality,
Jason Kennedy

Dr. Abramson of Harvard Medical School Says Statin is Ineffective

Statins cause of dementia and other medical problems?

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Joe Barton <support@bartonpublishing.com>
Date: Wed, May 9, 2012 at 8:34 PM
Subject: Medical Alert: Your Cholesterol Is ONLY Here To Help!

Leading doctors are questioning Western medicine's
acceptance of the whole cholesterol theory all together.
The new consensus is that Americans need to shift away from
cholesterol-controlling medications

Dr. John Abramson, of Harvard Medical School published a
report in the British journal Lancet stating statin drugs
for lowering cholesterol are ineffective. Further, Dr.
Abramson questions if any of the cholesterol guidelines are
even based on evidence-based studies. [Lancet 2007;
369:168-169]

People are being misinformed about cholesterol and its
connection with heart disease. According to emerging
medical evidence there is absolutely no benefit for healthy
people taking these dangerous statin drugs.

The whole idea of cholesterol being the causal factor of
heart disease is misleading, to say the least.

Each year more than 500,000 Americans die from a sudden-death
heart event and have low-to-normal cholesterol.

In fact blocking the natural production of cholesterol may
actually increase your risk of developing cancers of the
digestive organs and peritoneum, genital and urinary
organs, and lymphatic and blood tissues. [Science Daily
August 25, 2008]

Dr. Harumi Okuyama believes higher cholesterol levels are
associated with lower cancer and all-cause mortality rates
in the vast majority of people. [World Review of Nutrition
and Dietetics Basel, Karger, 96: 1–17, 2007]

Cholesterol is not a validated indicator about your future
health. The truth is cholesterol is an alcohol molecule
that cells use to keep their cell walls water proof.
Without this unique nutrient cells cannot regulate their
internal environments.

Your brain depends on concentrated levels of cholesterol to
protect normal nerve and cell functioning.

Insoluble cholesterol molecules are transported within tiny
particles made of fats and proteins called lipoproteins.
When necessary the lipoproteins easily dissolve after
transporting the water proof cholesterol held inside them.

There are two primary kinds of lipoproteins that transport
the cholesterol nutrients throughout your body.

So-called good cholesterol, High-Density-Lipoprotein (HDL)
transports cholesterol from peripheral tissues, like your
arterial walls, to the liver. From your liver cholesterol is
excreted with bile or used to make important hormones.

So-called bad cholesterol, Low-Density-Lipoprotein (LDL)
transports cholesterol in the opposite direction. You see
your liver actually makes about 2 grams of cholesterol each
day, unless you eat enough of it, then it would make less.

So LDL travels from your liver to your peripheral tissues
and the walls of your veins and arteries. Whenever these
cells need cholesterol they send for LDL for nourishment.

Western medicine believes that if HDL is low and LDL is
high, your risk for heart disease increases. Yet here is a
classic example of confusing cause and effect again. A risk
factor is NOT the same as a cause of disease. There are many
things that influence the HDL/LDL ratio.

FACT: Reduce your weight and you'll also reduce your LDL
and slightly increase your HDL. The question is whether the
reduced Body Mass Index (BMI) is favorable to the HDL/LDL
ratio?

Truth is a low BMI means you are likely to be over weight
or have a high fat versus muscle ratio. Excess fat in the
body is a sign a person may be insulin resistant and on the
path to developing diabetic symptoms. It is well known that
high blood sugar and high insulin levels are damaging to
the entire cardio vascular system.

Damage to arteries (arthrosclerosis) happens years before a
person becomes diabetic, even with NORMAL cholesterol ratios.

So there are other health factors more important than
cholesterol, such as blood sugar, metabolic hormones and
triglycerides. The list goes on.

For example a lack of exercise is known to create an
"unfavorable HDL/LDL ratio, but so does smoking, abnormal
blood sugar and blood pressure levels.

Bottom line while millions of people are being mislead into
treating their cholesterol levels other vital risk factors
are being over looked.

If you do not have heart disease why would you take any
drug to prevent it? I know there are always medical
exceptions, but chances are pretty good your not one of
them.

Health and wellness is more than lack of symptoms, it is a
lifestyle choice that you have complete control over. You
have control over whether you make the choice for health or
choose to do what drug companies want you to do.

Let's be realistic here now, all you need to do is
discover how to take control of your health again and keep
it. Why over-ride your body's inner intelligence? Rather,
learn to work with your body naturally, by learning proven
health secrets and then putting them to practice.

You have more going for you than you might have first thought.

Return to the natural path intended for you and reclaim the
lifestyle you once enjoyed.

World Renowned Heart Surgeon Renounces Mainstream Medicine for Heart Disease

Effective Cures Can be Cheap World Renowned Heart Surgeon Dr. Dwight Lundell has been one of the many MDs who has renounced mainstream medicine. He has been practicing traditional medicine for the last 25 years and has done more than 5000 open heart surgery. And he admits that what he has been doing for heart disease has been all wrong. The traditional medicine has focussed on cholesterol as the culprit behind the heart disease and lowering it is the main concern of heart specialist. The main drug used for this is statin. Unfortunately for statin, there are serious side effects discovered. Dr. Lundell has found out that the blood vessels of his patients, when he operated on them were inflamed. It is more of the toxic processed oil. There is a growing imbalance of omega 3 and 6. If the ratio between the two is l to 3, then inflammation is bound to happen. For most Americans, the ratio could be as high as l is to 35. He has written two books to signify his atonement and his change of heart.

FDA Warnings on Statins

Effective Cures Need Not be Expensive

This is a newsfeed from Newsmax Health. It tells us about the latest FDA warnings on the statins marketed under the ethical names:   Lipitor for Pfizer, Merk's Zocor, and Astra Zeneca's Crestor.  The warnings say that statins may cause diabetes, and loss of memory. In USA, the statins are used by some 20 million patients.  Its role on prevention of heart attacks can not be doubted;  however, the side effects must be considered and patients must be made aware of the risk.

The article recommends that supplements to recover the CoQl0 be done instead;   this substance is lost (excreted when one takes statin)  and avoidance of even the vegetable fat canola oil, sunflower, peanut soya oil,  that are being promoted as beneficial;   they are oxidized before they are taken in and that causes inflammation of blood vessels leading to atherosclorosis.  Better are extra virgin olive oil, omega 3 oil  and N.B. (good news for PHL coconut producers)COCONUT OIL.  (Where did the other oil producers get the crap on coconut oil?)  To be avoided further are MSG, soy protein concentrates, hydrolyzed protein, and autolyzed yeast causes production of free radicals.  Having had a root canal increases the risk of heart attacks so with gum diseases.  So a good periodental health is essential.

Food high in glycemic index should be avoided

The continued use of statins cause loss of essential fats that are necessary for neurological health.  The risk of having Lou Gehrig disease or having hemorrhagic  stroke is increased plus the l4 fold risk of having neuropathies that lead to loss of sensation and mobility.   Read on:

 Warning on Statins

Good substitutes for statin would be:  curcumin, white tea catechins, magnesiums, tocopherols, tocotrienols etc and the like.

Other substitutes for statins would be:

Of course stress is to be avoided, there must be regular exercise, and taking in of anti oxidants.
