Re Diabetes cures

Regarding the "diabetes" of child

1.  It does not look as bad as was pointed by Dr. Z.  Dr. Zs regimen and approach has been different since Tita  died.  It is all drugs about symptomatic treatment  ie to remove sugar.  My bs was 6.7  and I am alive up to now.  There has to be some sensible way to survive. Dr. Zs dictum before was wellness:

    1. Maintain IBW
    2.  Exercise
    3.  Diet and nutrition  (primal diet)
    4.  Monitor BS with a good glucometer
    4.  Avoid toxic foods:

        1.  apat ang paa
        2.  salt
        3.  sugar
        4 fatty food

         1.  Food with aspartame and HFCS
         2.   Fast food (that are oily etc)
         3.  softdrinks even noodles and 3 in one coffee

2  Diabetes is not a disease but a metabolic disorder resulting from body's inability to metabolize sugar for use of the body.  Too little sugar is worse than having too much

When there is a diabetes, blood sugar spikes and declines too low (and hypoglycemia results)

    Antidote:

    1.  Graze  - avoid large meals but eat small quantity of food every 2 hours

    2. Fight off hypo with a teaspoon of brown sugar, or milo, or with ordinary coke (1/2 glass)

3.  Diabetes is a lifestyle disease resulting from:

    1.  Sedentary living that results in
    2.  Obesity
    3. Stress
    4.  Lack of sleep

About 1/3 of the world is obese;  obesity leads to diabetes.  Less is more

Solution:

1. Avoid stressful job,
2.  Lessen weight
3.  Exercise
4.  Have plenty of rest .  Sleep early

Carbonated drinks lead to elevated uric acid level

Live healthy and long

Rizal Philippines  | April 28, 2014

From Carbonated drinks com

Ever wondered how come some people do not eat food that are high in purines like meat, poultry, fish, beans, and yet have elevated uric acid level.  I was at a loss when I was asked by neighbors about this.

This post is a Eureka.  High consumption of softdrinks  can cause elevated uric acid level;    " It may be a factor responsible for the elevated levels of uric acid in the blood stream. Elevated levels may also lead to deposition of uric acid crystals in joints, tendons and surrounding tissues"

So guys slow down on your cola drink consumption.  When you have high uric acid level or goes up, you know the answer.

It can be caused also by high level of alcohol or beer intake

Gout Triggers, Risk Factors and Effects of Beer and Other Alcohol

Gout Risk Factors

Gout is associated with several other disorders, including high blood pressure and heart disease. It is important to receive prompt diagnosis, and to manage these conditions. Adopting lifestyle and diet changes, as well as revisiting any medications you are taking for other disorders, can make a significant difference in patients with milder cases of gout.
The following are cumulative risk factors for gout:
  • Obesity – defined as a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or higher. Click here to calculate your BMI.
  • Untreated high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol
  • High levels of serum triglycerides in the blood, which are associated with an increased risk of heart disease
  • Joint injury – urate crystals are more likely to form in a joint that was previously damaged and/or a recent injury can bring on a gout attack
  • Diuretics – when taken by people with high blood pressure, leg swelling or heart failure, diuretics can decrease the kidney’s ability to remove uric acid and result in hyperuricemia
  • Chemotherapy – the breakdown and turnover of cells leads to an increase in uric acid
  • Kidney disease – when the kidneys are not working as a filter at 100 percent capacity, they cannot remove enough excess uric acid, leading to hyperuricemia
  • Genetics – fact: one out of four people with gout have a family history of the condition
  • Hyperuricemia – elevated uric acid levels can cause gout to flare up
  • Cyclosporine – Taking this anti-rejection transplant medication
  • High fructose intake

Gout Triggers

Gout triggers are usually different from one person to another. Many patients find their gout easier to manage once they determine their specific triggers. Keeping a lifestyle diary may help you determine what foods, beverages or activities can cause your gout to flare.
Certain uric acid lowering medications can also cause gout to flare initially. It is important to ask your doctor about this side effect, and to continue taking the medication as directed through the flare.
  • Regular, excessive alcohol intake, especially beer or binge drinking
  • Surgery or a sudden, severe illness for which you are bedridden
  • Consuming large quantities of purine-rich foods, especially red meat, organ meat and shellfish
  • Radiation therapy
  • Crash diets, especially high-protein fad diets
  • A diet high in fructose, including soft drinks and fruit juices
  • Starting a uric acid-lowering treatment medicine (even though it may be the correct long-term therapy)

Gout and Alcohol

Regular, excessive alcohol intake, especially beer or binge drinking, may cause gout to flare up.

Doctor finds 'battery acid' in common drinks? From Barton Publsihing Home Cures Daily

bATTERY WATER IN COmmon drinks?  O my gosh

According to Dr Mark Wiley, when you drink your favorite drink, you gulp with it substance that is very much like battery water.  It corrodes your teeth, cause arthritis being vee ury acidic, and  also builds up crystals (uric acid crystals) whic can cause pain (as in gouty arthritis)  Some posts even mentions that drink can be used as a household cleaner because of the acid content (phosphoric acid)

The softdrink guys may hate this post, but many who dislike being sick from taking in toxic and unhealthy food will appreciate this post

Doctor finds 'battery acid' in common drinks?
When you take a sip of your favorite beverage, you may be drinking down a good gulp of acid that affects your body the same way acid can corrode a battery casing or “eat” the enamel off your teeth…
And according to Dr. Mark Wiley, this acid “eats up” your body’s natural lubricants, and instead builds up a dangerous substance that he’s traced as a hidden cause of arthritis, muscle cramps and pain.
What’s more, this stuff seems to be everywhere…
From iced teas, sodas and energy drinks to “healthy” foods like tomato soup and yogurt, this highly acidic and dangerous ingredient is in all of these, and hundreds more food items.
And what happens is, after consuming food and drinks laced with this stuff, your body begins to become more acidic overall, as measured in the form of body pH.
When this takes place, your body isn’t able to create synovial fluids (the fluids that help “lubricate” your joints and body) as easily, and instead creates uric acid build up in the form of tiny crystals that feel like broken glass in your feet, hands, knees and back.
That’s just for starters, as all kinds of muscle and chronic pain begin entering into the picture.
So far, there’s only one way to control it …
You can discover that here [link], and as soon as you start following it, you could see the effects of arthritis, stiffness and chronic pain diminish with each passing day and week.
See for yourself and what it can do for you by clicking here
Sincerely,
Cannonesig

P.S. The effects of this discovery are raising eyebrows of doctors who previously thought nothing could be done for arthritis and chronic pain, and are now praising the results it’s getting for those who follow it.
If you’re tired of being told you have to “live with” the pain, go here and see exactly how it can help.

Soda (softdrinks) is the leading cause of obesity

Live healthy and long

Reposted from Dr. Mercola archives | Jan 2013

Despite the ad campaign of a leading world maker of softdrink to "to come together and fight obesity" it is criticized for lack of candor.  Despite diet and zero calories variety of its products, the HFCS component of the softdrinks and sweeteners have been attributed to be the cause of obesity.

Some expert views:

1. Dr. Sanjay Gupta has told CNN that one of the leading causes of obesity is softdrinks

2.  Dr.  Robert   Lustig points out that fructose is isocaloric rather than isometabolic.  It is not burned but converted directly to FAT!

3.  Dr. Richard Johnson says that fructose turns on the fat switch.  He is the author of Sugar Fix,  and Fat Switch

Use of artificial sweeteners in sodas

Consumption of sodas has gone down but not those with zero calories and/or artificial sweeteners.  Use of sugar substitute did not result in better health.  As a matter of facts, studies in 2011 has shown that use of sugar substitutes resulted in waist size gain 6x than those who did not take same substance.  The use of aspartame has likewise shown that blood sugar levels has increased in diabetes prone individuals.

The risk of being obese taking these softdrinks with artificial sweeteners is as follows:

  • 36.5 percent for up to 1/2 can per day
  • 57.1 percent for more than 2 cans per day  ---->> much much higher
For regular soft-drink drinkers, the risk of becoming overweight or obese was:
  • 26 percent for up to 1/2 can per day
  • 32.8 percent for 1 to 2 cans per day
  • 47.2 percent for more than 2 cans per day
So we are not against softdrinks per se;  we are for good health and long life!

We are not against soda drinks.  We wish them well.  However, there is growing evidence of its continued use on damage to health.

Maybe this is the reason why my grandfather died early. He took a lot of Pepsi. According to my MD friend who is a GIT specialist, there is an alarming incidence of fatty liver. Too much soft drink....

Dear Reader,

Last week, a few news outlets broke the big story that an ingredient in soda could cause cancer.

Um, where in the world have they been? Over a year ago, I told you about the Center for Science in the Public Interest study that found that the "caramel coloring" in soda isn't as harmless as it sounds.

In fact, that coloring comes from a high-pressure reaction between sugar and ammonia and sulfites, resulting in the coloring along with 2-methylimidazole (2-MI) and 4 methylimidazole (4-MI). As I reported last February, in government studies, these beauties caused several types of cancer (lung, liver, thyroid) in lab animals.

I also reported that the study showed that there were "significant" levels of one of these compounds in at least five brands of cola they analyzed in that study.

The question on everyone's lips then was this: What in the world is this junk doing in the food supply, especially if it's only there so the soda looks pretty and soda-like?

At the time, the American Beverage Association was all in a tizzy about this 4-MI finding. "It's not a threat!" they claimed. "It's in lots of other stuff!" they cried.

Well, it seems that the tune has changed. Too bad it took a year, but I suppose I should look on the bright side.

News just hit that soda giants Coca-Cola and Pepsi will be changing the way they make their products so there's "less" 4-MI. Of course, this isn't out of the goodness of their hearts--they're doing this to avoid having a cancer-warning label slapped on bottles of Coke and Pepsi.

They've already made the change in California, but they're changing the process across the United States to make it easier to manage their product.

Through all this, they maintain that there's nothing wrong with the old formula and that the change isn't justified. They're just playing along. In fact, they're trying to play themselves off as martyrs here--changing their products so they're not subject to an evil "scientifically unfounded warning."

Poor soda makers--so misunderstood and maligned!

So, at least a bit of change has resulted from this finding--it took a while, but it's something, right?

Now if they'd just do something about that HFCS...

Yours in good health,

Christine O'Brien

Oolong an option?

Q: What kind of tea is oolong tea? Is it herbal or black? Are there any benefits to drinking it?

Dr. Wright: Oolong tea is part of the "real" tea family that also includes black, green, and white varieties. Oolong is sometimes referred to as semi-fermented and is somewhere in between black tea and green tea in terms of how long it is processed. It is a very popular variety in China in particular.

Because it is a true tea, oolong shares many of the same benefits of green tea. However, since it does undergo the fermentation process for slightly longer, it may contain less of some healthful elements than green tea, but more than black tea. Its caffeine content is in the middle of these two varieties as well.
