There has been allure of more income (multi level marketing) and more business for distributors to reap huge profits from the masses through spin and huge adspend.  say like on Acai berry, on mangosteen, wheat and barley grass.  They claim to have huge health benefits such as more energy, strong immune system, better circulation, cancer cures.  But most are anecdotal and story telling and not  supported by research.  Furthermore, having been processed for capsule or other forms, they would have lost their potency or bio availability.

Better go for Naturals

4 Key Strategies for Killing Food Cravings

By Chad Tackett, CPT
Founder of Fast Track to Fat Loss

When you're constantly hungry, it makes choosing the right foods at the right times really challenging.

Staying full and energized while eating fewer calories—that's the secret to long-term fat loss success.

Here are 4 key strategies for feeling satisfied after a healthy meal and staying full longer. You'll not only have a lot more energy, you'll crave (and eat) less later. . .

1. Eat your water. Yes, eat. Drinking water is great, and you should throughout the day, but it doesn't provide the same level of feeling satisfied as when you eat foods high in water.

There is a separate mechanism in the brain that controls hunger and thirst. If the food you eat contains water, it will stay in the stomach longer while it's being digested.

PLUS, foods high in water are naturally very low in calories – making them ideal for fat loss.

Many fruits and vegetables contain 90 – 98 percent water! The following are some of the most hydrating foods. . .

  • Watermelon contains 92% water and electrolytes, such as calcium, magnesium,  potassium, and sodium – all of which (positively) influence your metabolism!
  • Grapefruit contains only 30 calories and is comprised of 90% water!
  • Cucumbers are 96% water and contain just 14 calories in an entire cup!
  • Cantaloupe is 89% water and contains only 27 calories per 1/2 cup!
  • Strawberries contain just 23 calories per 1/2 cup and are made up of approximately 92% water. Plus, strawberries rank as the 4th strongest antioxidant-rich fruit!
  • Broccoli contains 90% water and anti-cancer nutrients that help to detoxify the vast number of potential toxins that we encounter each day. Plus, it's a great source of fiber.
You may have noticed that these water-dense foods are all carbs. Because they're natural (and not processed), I'd suggest the portion  being about the size of your fist. So, a small grapefruit or a cup of sliced strawberries, for example, would work well.

2. Fill up on fiber. Fiber is critical to fat loss in several ways: first, fiber contains only 1.5 to 2.5 calories per gram, while other carbs contain 4 calories per gram (fat contains 9 calories per gram). Essentially, you can pile your plate with plenty of high-fiber foods without worrying about caloric-overload.

In addition to being low-calorie, high-fiber foods are more filling. Fiber is absorbed by our bodies more slowly than other foods, which means we feel full longer.

Foods high in fiber are fruits and vegetables, beans, lentils, legumes, and natural whole grains. Aim for at least 25-35 grams each day to help reduce your caloric intake and keep you feeling full and energized longer.

3. Include protein at every meal.
A meal with carbs alone causes blood sugar spikes and crashes, which leave you feeling tired, hungry, and weak. Protein helps slow this from happening, so that the carbs you eat aren't converted to body fat, and allows for energy to be released slowly.

Great protein sources are lean meats, fish, lowfat dairy, legumes, and unprocessed soy products.

Your choice of protein should be approximately the size of your palm. For example, a medium-sized chicken breast.

4. Don't leave out healthy fat. Since fat is so calorie-dense, it's important that you eat it in moderation . . . BUT in small amounts, it provides flavor and has a positive impact on slowing insulin response, like protein.

My favorite healthy fat source are nuts and seeds because they are also a great source of protein and fiber. Other excellent fat  sources are avocados, olives, and fatty fish (e.g.,  salmon).

The fat source you choose should be about the size of your thumb. This is about 5 almonds for the average-sized woman or 7 almonds for the average man.

Putting this into Action
Now that you know which foods keep you feeling full and satisfied throughout the day, here are some great ideas that combine them all together for one super fat-burning snack or meal:

  1. Stir in a little peanut butter (healthy fat) and protein powder (protein) into oatmeal (fiber), topped with strawberries (water).
  2. Dip cucumbers (water) in hummus (fiber and healthy fat) and cottage cheese (protein).
  3. Marinate broccoli (water and fiber) and boneless, skinless chicken breast (protein) in a little olive oil (healthy fat) and balsamic vinegar and wrap it in aluminum foil on the BBQ.
  4. A bowl of Greek yogurt (protein) with pieces of watermelon (water), topped with flaxseeds (fiber and healthy fat).
These meals will make you FEEL completely different.

Your mood and energy will stabilize. You won't have that gnawing, dissatisfied feeling anymore.

You'll feel a lot more self-control when it comes to what you eat and when you eat it.

Juicing does not guarantee that you will be disease free; many fruits are pesticide laden

Live healthy and long

Repost from Ivillage | March 15, 2013

When we conversed with Nikken associates on why barley and water purifiers/mag pi filters are necessary?   The senior associate has friends that juiced fruits but still succumbed to the big C.  Why because the fruits and vegies that were juiced were heavy with pesticides.

Some of them:   apples, spinach, potatoes, cherries, kale, sweet bell pepper, blueberries, nectarine, peaches, celery, strawberries

My fat-burning grocery list (copy this)

Subject: My fat-burning grocery list (copy this

One of the biggest struggles that folks have is knowing how shop and choose the right foods when visiting the grocery store.  And while there are SO many choices and a TON of confusion at your local grocer, they've actually made it really EASY for you to shop, if you know what sections to visit, and which to avoid.

In fact, I can get in and out of the grocery store with a full cart of fat-burning groceries in just 15 mins nowadays, simply because I know I'll NEVER even visit 90% of the store isles on most visits.

So, before we get into my exact grocery list, here's my EASIEST grocery store tip EVER:

Shop the perimeter of the grocery store and avoid the middle isles.  That's it!

Here's why it works:

With few exceptions, the middle isles of the grocery store are full of process packaged foods while the perimeter contains almost all of the whole, natural foods you'll need to stock up your fat-burning kitchen.

Here's my usual routine when visiting my local grocery store, and I'm sure your store is set up in a similar way.

When I walk in the door I make sure to walk right on past the bakery!  Did you know that nearly every grocery store puts the bakery right at the entrance intentionally?  If they can get your saliva glands working right away, it's very likely you'll spend more as you travel through the store...nothing in a grocery store's layout is by accident, which is why I know your store is probably laid out the same way.

So, quickly pass by the bakery and head straight to the produce section...this is where wholesome goodness starts...fresh fruits & veggies.  In my most recent trip, here are the items I grabbed from the produce section:

Apples
Oranges
Bananas
Cherries
Berries
Green Beans
Brocolli
Sugar Snap Peas
Carrots
Red Potatoes
Spinach
Romaine Lettuce

Of course there are a ton of other great choices lying around the produce section...pretty much any vegetable and/or fruit would be a great fat-burning, nutrient-rich choice.

I then walk 5 steps from the produce section to the fresh meats and poultry.  At our grocery stores here in Florida (Publix) they have an "all natural" section of the meat department called Greenwise where you can get all-natural and organic meats that are sourced from animals not treated with hormones and antibiotics...your store probably has something like this as well.  Just ask if you aren't sure.

From this section I grabbed:

All Natural Chicken Sausage
Grass Fed Ground Beef
Grass Fed Chuck Roast (for pot roast)
Organic Chicken Breast
Grass Fed NY Strip Steaks

Next up is the milk and eggs section, again right on that back wall (still haven't ventured into the isles at all).  From here I picked up:

Organic Large Eggs
Organic Butter
Organic Whole Milk

Along the very last isle in the store are some more dairy items where I grabbed:

Organic Greek Yogurt
All-Natural Cheddar Cheese

If you have trouble with gas and bloating when consuming dairy products, I would highly recommend AbsorbMax Digestive Enzymes.  I used to have similar issues when eating dairy and now I can eat all the dairy I want with absolutely no issues whatsoever...all thanks to this amazing enzyme blend:

Also in that last isle is water, so I grabbed a case or two and that essentially took me back to the front of the store to check out.  A full cart of fat-burning groceries all while NEVER visiting the center isles where I'm sure I would have been tempted to toss in a bunch of processed garbage like cookies, crackers, chips, ice cream, cereal, stove top pasta "mixes"...and the list goes on.

If I do ever make a strategic trip into the middle of the store, it's almost always to get these items:

Beans
Spices
Tomato Puree
Nuts
Stevia

And that's about it.

Follow that simple advice next time you're at the grocery store and you'll be in and out in no time while avoiding all those processed items that wind up ruining your diet once you get them home.

And if you want to start enjoying dairy again without any of the digestive side effects, I highly recommend AbsorbMax Digestive Enzymes.  Get yours here with free shipping today:

Enjoy the day!

Healthy Drinks and Fruits Near Our Office

Effective Cures are Cheap

Mango, guyabano, dragon fruit, buko, apple - all healthy fruits

I came across a food stall selling juice drinks just across the office where I work.  It juices avocados, mangoes, buko and many other fruits.  Prices range from only PHP 45.  It is reasonable, you do not have to go to a mall to have these healthy drinks.

I hope many will realize the value of fresh fruit juice:  rich in Vit C, carotenes that are good for body health.

I Studied Plants in the Neighborhood vs. Dr. J. C Kurian book (Amazing Miracle Plants)

Effective Cures Can be Cheap

This is periwinkle, "Dalagang Maangot", an anti cancer cure!!!

I studied our refrigerator bin, our neighborhood, took pictures of the trees and weeds to make my knowledge of healing plants and herbs stick.  As an old Chinese saying goes, ...." I see and remember, I experience and understand."  My going around taking the pictures would make me somehow knowledgeable on what I blog about.

From the refrigerator

High  glycemic index, but the tea from boiling is good for the urinary tract

                                       Onions

                                Garlic

                               Garlic and turmeric

                               Bananas:   latundan and saba

WHF on bananas   Bananas are rich in potassium, provides energy and good for maintaining the health of the cardiovascular system,  aids in preventing hyperacidity because banana lines up the gastric lining.  It is good in maintaining the eyesight (preventing macular degeneration) in maintenance of  of bonesm and better GIT emptying

                              Tomatoes

                             Watermelon

                              Carrots

Eggplants (BC5 in eggplants good vs skin cancer)

                             Apples

                             Bell Pepper
UHF on bell pepers  Bell pepper also known by its Latin name Capsicum annuum.  They are not hot because they contain only small amount of capsacin, the hot substance. Bell pepper come in variety of colors.  They are rich in Vit C and seem to increase in Vit C content as they ripen.  Peppers belong to a group of nightshade family that include potatoes, tomatoes and eggplants.  They are rich in carotenoids and  Vit C and E.  They contain most of the carotenoids :   alpha carotene, beta carotene, lyncopene, lutien, cryptoxanthin, and xeaxanthin..  The only other vegetable that contain most of these is tomato.  Bell pepper contain many sulfur supporting compounds useful in fight against cancer

                               Mangoes

From the sari-sari store

Sweet potatoes, cucumber, and potatoes;  sweet potatoes and cucumber are effective

                               Chayote, baguio beans, and carrots

                            Ang Kangkong, bow!

Chili:  the spicy and the sweet pepper

Eggplants, effective vs skin cancer, rich in zinc, and charantia

The miracle cure is just a stroll away!

t realize that in PHL, we are so rich in low cost cures.  I am surprised.  Really;  the cure could be just a walk to the park or sari sari store.  Yet we bypass them and go for canned or processed food;  or to the fastfood.
