Sugar Free, Gluten Free Chocolate Lava Cake*
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of organic butter
  • 8 ounces of 85% broken up dark chocolate
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup of Xylitol
  • 1/2 tsp of Nu Naturals stevia powder
  • 4 tsp of your favorite gluten free flour
Preparation:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

Set out eggs to bring to room temperature. Section out 3 chocolate bars into seven pieces each, so you can measure out the ounces (each piece is .5 ounces). Chop up chocolate. Melt butter and chocolate together over medium heat, stirring constantly.

Whisk together eggs. Add beaten eggs, erythritol, and stevia to chocolate mixture. Stir in GF flour. Pour into 12 silicone muffin cups and bake for about 14 minutes (check at 12), or until puffed up and still a bit moist looking on the tops. Do NOT overbake. Let cakes sit in muffin pans for one minute, and then invert cakes onto individual serving dishes. Top with fresh whipped cream (made with stevia)  and berries, if desired. Consume immediately while warm and gooey!

Why you should NEVER use Splenda (dangerous health warning)

I used to buy Splenda by a boxful (500 packages) being a confirmed diabetic.  However ever sincle learning that it is sucralose and akin to DDT, I am avoiding this like a plague.  So it is entirely sugar free diet (no sugar) or little brown sugar.  Would you believe this write up on Splenda?

Stevia would be better choice now.

Splenda, also known as sucralose, is an artificial, chemical sweetener.

Despite advertisements stating "Made from Sugar, so it Tastes like Sugar", which attempt to confuse consumers, Splenda is not natural and contains no elements of natural sugar. 

You may also be surprised to learn that Splenda contains chrlorine.  Yes, the same chlorine that goes in swimming pools.  And here's the worst side effect:

Just like chlorine kills off micro-organisms in swimming pools, Splenda and sucralose kill off healthy bacteria that lives in your gut -- healthy bacteria that is vitally important to virtually every aspect of your health.

Recently, a study at the University of Duke confirmed this very finding.  Not only is sucralose a heavily-processed, chemical artificial sweetener, but it's also damaging to your gut health, which goes on to affect every other aspect of your health.

Here's a direct quote from that study:

"Splenda suppresses beneficial bacteria and directly affects the expression of the transporter P-gp and cytochrome P-450 isozymes that are known to interfere with the bioavailability of nutrients. Furthermore, these effects occur at Splenda doses that contain sucralose levels that are approved by the FDA for use in the food supply."

3 things that can destroy your metabolism and make you fat

There are three things that can spoil our metabolism and make you fat:

l.  Caffeine with lots of sugar.  Coffee is preferred not to be taken with fructose sugar.  Too much sugar make you insensitve to insulin causing your body to pump out more insulin.  Too much insulin makes for he lower production of pectin, your fat is not metabolized.  Eating liquid carbs and not real carbs make you crave for more food.

2.  Artificial sweeteners:   sucrolose (splenda) and aspartame (sweet and low, equal,) are tough on thyroid, and cause hypothyroidism.  It means low metabolism leading to more fats  Moreover, they cause more production of cortisol, and cortisol makes you retain fat even in a low calorie state. Try lemon, cucumber with water. or the latest:  stevia.

3. Are you listening to your body?

Your office work may lull you into inactivity and may ignore what the body is trying to tell you:  be active.  Some signs:  slumping, yawning,  feeling tense or anxious,

The Popular Food That's Just as Damaging as Alcohol and Goes Straight to Fat

Can you guess what food is this?

What is this?  It is fructose

It shares the same characteristic as alcohol;

l.  Like alcohol, it is only metabolized at the liver;

2.  Fructose, like alcohol undergoes Maillard reaction which produces superoxide free radicals, and with byproducts of ethanol (alcohol) as a byproduct;

3.By stimulating the brain (to produce instant sweet effect);  fructose creates habituation and dependence.

Be careful when taking your junk food, cakes or softdrinks;  they may contain fructose which is just as harmful as alcohol

Substitute sugar:

1.  Dextrose (pure glucose) that may be used directly by your body and

2.  Stevia

I just learned that my wife bought some new healing plants at Los Banos last week.  They are taeboo (balbas pusa) wheat grass, and stevia.

The battle between High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) and artificial sweetener is a battle between two evils!!


Since they are artificial molecules devoid of calories, they actually make you crave for reall calories, and cause you to gain weight.

Aside from that, the following are attributed to these substances:

                         


l.  GIT problems,

2.  may cause cancer

3.  cause more food cravings

4.  negative effects on kidney, liver and other organs

5,  head aches

6.  embryonic development


                                  
              

The article recommends the use of Stevia, which 200-300 times stronger than natural sugar.  Or honey or maple syrup, or sorghum sugar.  In the Philippines, there is coconut sugar

Sugar Substitutes are Unsafe/toxic

Effective Cures Can be Cheap

According to this newsfeed from Joe Barton Publishing, there are two myths on sugar subsitute that are absolutely false:

l.  That sugar substitute are safe and healthy are better than regular sugar;

2.  That they make you lose weight.

The article mentions that somebody who drinks diet sodas is drinking poison.

I used to consume cases of a Light type of a cola drink, and then the 0 type.  Even my friends doctor said they are absolutely safe.  Now the jury is out.

l.  Aspartame is unsafe at any amount.  It is excitetoxin/nuerotoxin.

2.  Sucralose (it is actually a choloro carbon, a DDT lite) It is marketed under trade name ... S....

3.  Saccharin (S and L) is a derivative from a coal.  It causes allergic reaction it is from combination of  anthranilic acid, nitrous acid, sulfur dioxide and ammonia.  Does not sound healthy? It is believed to cause cancer.  FDA tried to ban it in 1970.

Sometimes it is not a matter of sugar free or sugar substitute, but maybe sugarless or no sugar or less sugar.

Stevia which is a product of plant promises to be a better alternative.

Fwd: Does COFFEE make you FATTER? (is it EVEN HEALTHY?)

Coffee (despite hewhawing medical opinions in the past, as with eggs) is now considered healthy.  It is rich in phyto nutrients.  One coffee shop I know in our town,  near Save More extols the health and medicinal benefits of of coffee.  It is even indicated for dental caries.

I had a student in Lipa City, Winnie C who had a business plan for a medicinal coffee shop.  However her marketing campaign part, and the EDS part failed to highlight the medicinal aspect of her coffee shop.  It should have been a successful business plan. (By the way I met a coffee shop consultant and he would put up a coffee shop in Angono.  His wife is from AIM ME)

What makes the coffee a fattenning substance according to the feed?  The sugar and creamer you add into it.  Sugar becomes fat;  the creamer is rich in fat and sugar.  So do away with them  mix lightly with cocoa, maple syrup, stevia, coconut milk, or unrefined sugar.  (I had to take down the entire feed because of restrictions in the email feed.  It could helped them if there was a link)
