According to this article, it is not cholesterol per se. This is according to Dr. Fred Kummerow, who is now 100 years old in his book, Cholestero is not the Culprit. Increase consumption of transfat and processed cholesterol are. Transfat lead to reduction of the bodies ability to produce transcyclin which keeps the blood flowing. And this leads to sudden death.
Processing leads to processing of cholesterol like frying eggs or frying powdered egg.
The best alternative therefore is to avoid processed food.
Also avoid sugar.

This site made earlier post attributing to increased consumption of alcohol and softdrinks as culprit for hyperurecemia (elevated uric acid level in the blood) We normally point to increase consumption of purines contained in vegies high and protein, fish and meat products as the cause. But sugary drinks, we do not know contribute to hyperurecemia. They softdrinks, sugary drinks are the silent/unknown culprit.
