Rizal Philippines

Happy Immaculate Conception day.

This afternoon I accompanied a neighbor who has been ill for unknown reasons for the last six months.  He has spent over P50,000 for six doctors and ultrasound, CAT scan, blood test, colonoscopy.  The first dx was for coleostomy fater a colonoscopy.  But he sought second opinion and concluded otherwise.  After the CAT scan, there seems to be nothing wrong with him . The sick man is also a self taught Chinese medicine man. but could not cure himself.  He became thin and pale.  His trouble is trouble urinating and moving his bowels.  It is either for the latter, having lbm or having nothing.  He was given potassium, herbal (sambong) analgesics, and even antibiotics.

Last Saturday, I met Sonny Baarde on his birthday, and claimed he has cured others of their illness through herbals.   Sonny seemed to be a good medicine man.  He knows the basics of herbs, and seem to do good dx, asking what you ate, do you exercise or not.

We were accompanied by Restie also a spiritual and herbal medicine man.  He claimed he was well to do before having worked with a clinic in Manila with Madam Auring

I attended the birthday party of an acquaintance whom I did not know practices herbal medicine.

He mentioned that he knows of friends who have problem with bladder stones.  He said he has one now and they are using sambong tea.  And he has sambong planted in his yard.  It has been effective he said even to those who have prostrate problems.  The sambong tea, and even chewing the young leaves successfully melts away the stone crystals for later excretion

It can be used also against coughing, arthritis, and even as anti cancer agent. (according to the Medical Health Guide.

This is confirmed by the Medical Health Guide site

No of HIV cases in the Philippines has doubled

Live healthy and long

Rizal Philippines
December 1, 2015

From Sunstar

From Rappler - better response needed from PHL to combat HIV epidemic

The number of HIV cases in the Philippines had doubled with NCR on top of the list and Eastern Visayas no. 2.  Cebu is number 1, and Bohol is number 2.

The number of new HIV cases has risen from 4 in 2010 to 21 to 2015. This is the fastest growth in # of HIV cases according to WHO representative in the Philippines Julie Hall

This is expected with the growth in the number of arrivals of tourists who seek local entertainment, and OFW who get exposed to foreigners infected with HIV or aids.

We should take necessary precaution as with regards to nocturnal activities, entertainment, and dealing with sex workers. Protected sex is a must.  More screening and testing.

Philippine response from DOH is having HIV week.

Air pollution responsible for 7 million deaths annually

Live healthy and long

Rizal Philippines

We see again cases of haze in Singapore and Malaysia, and smog in China, indicating unabated air pollution   As we write, there is a the climate change conference in Paris, and climate change and air pollution are connected.

We are also aware that there are 7 million premature deaths attributed to air pollution with most of them occurring indoors. This was reported by WHO, and the figures are as of 2012.  The resulting diseases are cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, and cancer.  This is bad in China because of heavy use of coal for factories and power plants.  Philippines power base load is coal (which is being defended by Pres. Aquino) because it is cheap at around P3.00/kwh.

The 7 million deaths translate to 19,000 dying every day, and about 4 planes crashing every hour.  Can we stop this?
