Impressive Research Results with Aggressive Cancer Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is a cancer of the white blood cells that tends to strike children.  Eighty percent of the time, conventional treatments are successful, but sulforaphane holds promise for the 20% of patients who don't respond to traditional cancer therapies.      Researchers from Baylor College of Medicine in Texas incubated sulforaphane with cells of acute lymphoblastic leukemia taken from both human and mouse cell lines.  Sulforaphane eradicated cancer cells in both the mouse and human cells.  Like other natural compounds, sulforaphane killed the cancer cells without harming healthy cells obtained from cancer-free patients.      Scientists believe that sulforaphane annihilates cancer cells by reacting with certain proteins know to cause apoptosis (cell death).  Sulforaphane has also been shown to detoxify carcinogens before they damage the cell.      Published in the highly respected peer-reviewed journal PLOS ONE, this study is remarkable in that it is the first trustworthy trial to show sulforaphane's potential ability to treat blood cell cancers such as leukemia.      Other research has confirmed sulforaphone's cancer-fighting properties, as well.  Just a few examples include... Clinical Cancer Research published a study that demonstrated that sulforaphone not only destroyed breast cancer stem cells in mice and lab cultures, but also prevented future cancer cells from forming. A 2011 study published in Molecular Nutrition & Food showed that sulforaphane protects against prostate cancer. Many studies have found that broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage and cauliflower contain potent cancer-fighting properties.  They are packed with antioxidants and carotenoids and have been proven to protect against cancers of the stomach, esophagus, colon, lung, larynx, prostate, mouth, pharynx, ovaries, breast and cervix. A meta-analysis published in of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association found that more than 70% of studies showed a connection between cruciferous vegetables and cancer protection. In a 2001 study published in the Journal of Natural Products, a compound extracted from graviola seeds killed liver cancer cells without harming healthy cells.      However, as promising as these results are, graviola is no match for the bark of an even lesser-known North American fruit tree.  That's because extracts of this North American fruit tree bark contain double-ringed acetogenins that have proven in laboratory studies to be a million times more effective than some chemo drugs. A Million Times Stronger Than Chemo Drugs—with No Harmful Side Effects The bark of this North American fruit tree is exceedingly more powerful than graviola as an effective cancer treatment, according to results of a $5 million study funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI).  It was in this NCI-funded study that this fruit tree was shown to be a million times more effective than chemo drugs, without toxic effects on healthy cells.      This is in stark contrast to the dismal 2% success rate of chemo, which is widely feared for its debilitating and long-lasting poisonous effects throughout the body.      An award-winning researcher renowned for his studies with botanical cancer treatments, Dr. Jerry McLaughlin of Purdue University, oversaw the NCI-funded experiments using this fruit tree.  Dr. McLaughlin also took the extract out of the lab and tested it with cancer patients, to see if the results held up in the real world.      In one study, an extract of this fruit tree's bark was administered to 130 of Dr. McLaughlin's cancer patients.  Their conditions were then monitored for a year and a half.  The study included all different types and stages of cellular abnormalities.      The results?  CT scans and other tests verified significant reductions in the size of abnormal growths, and significant reductions in antigen levels reflected various well-recognized tumor markers.      Another medical researcher practitioner, Kimberly D. Balas, Ph.D., was equally astonished by the results she saw when she used this extract to treat her patients.  "I had people respond [measured by CA markers, substances produced by tumors that indicate the existence and severity of cancer in the body] in as little as 3 weeks ... I have someone that has low WBC and stage IV cancer.  Her CA-15-3 markers are down by about 125%!" In ancient times, in the times of the pharaoh, there was no record of cancer.  Records of cancer  appeared in modern times.  Therefore, cancer is caused by man in modern times.  There is nothing in nature that causes
cancer.
