Live healthy and long

Cheap cures that are skin deep

So far this site has only done this much for cheap cures:

1.  Gathering articles about alternative herbal and plant cures;

2.  Advice on how to live healthy and strong;

3.  Advice on food, nutrition and exercise.

These are when diseases that are mortal and morbid or has not stricken patient.  But it does no explore the hard core of medicine and health issues:   as when the patient is critically ill or in sticken with big C all ready. Or heart disease Intervention and cures cost money.

So it is now time to take stock of the situation and act.

What is happening?

1. The Aravind Hospital c/o Dr. V has embarked on cheap $5 dollar cataract surgery and cheap lenses.

2.  Dr. David Shetty of Harayana Hospital aims for $800 heart operation.  Its about use of donation and economies of scale.

    They have a $10 haemodialysis treatment through some mumbo jumbo deal with equipment suppliers and volume number of patients.

3.  Thailand has universal health care system, wherein a Thai can check thrice at Thai hospital govt or private 3x a year for only Bhat 35 per admission.

But because of MVP profit motive driving MMC, Cardinal Santos, Delos Santos, Riverside, the costs of medical care has been going up up and away beyond the reach of common men, (even MDs)

Call to Action:

1.  May be I can convince some former students in MBA health to search for solution towards cheap cures for critically ill especially in the public sector. Some of our former students in MBA in health were chiefs of hospitals and owners of hospital. Some were chiefs in big hospital in the south (MIndanao) and Southern Luzon.  One is a undersecretary of health.

I used to work in college who became a secretary of health and is now a dean of School of Medicine.

May be I can muster their support and their bright minds.

I had student Dr. Edu Tuazon propose a BP for a P1,000 hemodialysis and he still earns money for that.  There are Filipino doctors in US who can donate free old dialysis machines.

2.  I know of one health care company who offer P3,500 health card, good for P35,000 worth of health care (max) one time use only with 3 months non use allowance.  This is a good start.

What can I do:

1. Build more businesses, create a foundation that will support:  (the business for the dead will help so that others may live longer

     1.  hospitals that are low cost;

     2.  support a P500.00 per session hemodialysis project with Dr. Edu Tuazon

    3.  support some of the difficult heart cases, together with some other foundations.

   4.  encourage other companies to establish foundation to support the health care of those who can not afford this.

   5.  invest in hospital with social entrep/low cost models

2.  Buy or consolidate health care companies hmo that will help control health care costs.
