Dengue has reached epidemic proportions in Singapore lately (as is was in the PHL before) However, there are grasses that repel mosquitoes. Aside from controlling the breeding ground, this grass, Citronella seems to be very effective in warding off mosquitoes.  There are no mosquitoes in my house and yard since I bought this grass for 50  php.  Why dont you try it.?

It is natural cheap and is not harmful like DEET

It closely resembles the aromatic lemon grass.

Does Singapore want to import this grass from me by the container load?

            There are news of the cancer healing properties of lemon grass.  There are plenty in my yard.  Also known scientifically as Cimbofogon stratus, lemon grass has citral which is the active ingredient that combats cancer.  The great news of use of lemon grass started in Ben Gurion University in Negev Israel.  The study was authored by Dr. Ofir and Prof Weinstein

I have posted many healing plants from the Dr. JC Kurian book.  Lately I came across an article written by him at Pulse, a publication of Asia Pacific International University last December 20, 2012.  He writes that one of the benefits of lemon grass (Cimbopogon stratus) is its cancer healing property which was quoted from other publications.

Lemon grass usual use is aromatherapy and fragrance.  It is used for food flavors too and grows abundantly in the Philippines.  This is good news for cancer patients who are poor but who have access to lemon grass.

The original study was made at Ben Gurion University (BGU) and published in Planta Medica. 
The research was made by Dr. Rivka Ofir and Prof Yakov Weinstein

Lemon grass is plentiful in the PHL.  We could export lemon grass specifically for cancer cure.  Or make this a as part of medical tourism.

I just learned that my wife bought some new healing plants at Los Banos last week.  They are taeboo (balbas pusa) wheat grass, and stevia.

Please take a look:
