Three sources of toxins in our body are:  pollution from traffic, plastics, and personal care products.  There are recent studies, as late as Feb 2013, in Euro Prevent conference in Rome which shows links between air pollution and aortic calcification.  The study involved 4,238 subjects and which showed:

l.  for every increase in volume of PM 2.5, there is a 20.7 increased risk of CVD;

2.  for every l00 meters proximity to traffic, there is a 10% increase in risk of getting a CVD

The other risks in plastic and home care products, involving parabens, phthlates, PCB, BPA, heavy metals in cosmetics have been previously discussed in this site.

Avoiding exposure to traffic, plastics, cosmetics, going natural, avoiding highly polluted cities are best way not to get CVD and prolong life

Pollution really bad at MM! Where is the Clean Air Act?

I though all the while that pollution is just bad from a distance.  But it looks bad when you are near Makati and Taguig.  We wish the public sector leaders, the regulators would enforce the clean air act.

Who will shoulder the cost of this air pollution? How many will be sick or die of respiratory diseases or cancer?

I again took photos of the air above Laguna Lake and the other coastal municipalities.  The cold morning air, still air, and cloudy skies made the air pollution worse.

My throat is itchy;  a number of people I know have colds and/or asthma attacks.

Right now, the effect on human health and lives will not be felt.  But 5 to 10 years down the road it will be.

How many will be sick of respiratory diseases, of cancer (from xenoestrogens) how much will it cost?  Who will shoulder the cost?

Why is nothing being done?  People will act if tens of thousands will be affected, but most especially if the public officials relative, or even his own life is involved?

When shall words be backed up by action?

 x                               Heavy haze over the residential area

                                  Who is measuring air pollution?  This flood level stick?

The 4ps of cancer cures

 I predict that more people in MM will die of cancer, especially respiratory ones.  The air pollution in Edsa and Pasig area is getting worse, and public health sector seem not to be doing anything at all.

According to Dr. Wilda Clark, there are two Ps of cancer cure:     parasites, and pollution.

I would like to add another two:   pagkain (food) and physical fitness.

If you mind the four ps, then you will not get cancer, much less other diseases

Blue and Clear Skies this Time, But Not in Pasig Area

Effective Cures that are Cheap for Everyone

  On a clear day, you can see the buildings at the other side of the lake

As we jogged at Eastridge, we saw that skies were clear.  It rained the other night.  The view of Angono was clear.  Alabang, Paranaque were visible.  But Makati and Pasig view were beginning to get murky. I hope the air quality will be better in the days to come .

       That is Taytay, Global City and Makati;  EDSA buses polluting MM

      Nothing is visible at Pasig and Ortigas Area

     And the air  is dark and dreary.... pollution is smoldering and suffocating -can the residents feel it?

Can we Lowlanders Breathe at All with this Pollution?

Effective Cures Can be Cheap

Everytime we walk up at Eastridge, we are witness to the heavy haze and CO2 floating above the town of Angono and MM.  We wonder how we can breathe at all, and until what time will these toxins cause us to be sick with cancer.

Some questions:

l.  Who is in charge of enforcing the Clean Air Act?

2.  Why has air quality gone from bad to worse?

3.  What is the long term effect of this air pollution to our health? Who are at risk?

4.  Who will shoulder the cost?

5.  What are the green activitists doing?

6.  Why is nothing happenning?
