Live healthy and long
Again with the alternative medicine practitioners.
The Chinese medicine man looked at my palm and noticed strong vertical lines near my right thumb and said that my throat was affected and said that my throat was affected (this is correct). And in 5 years I would be sick.
So what would I do:
l. Sit on the chair on the wrong side (face the backrest). This will cause your back to tilt backward and your chin to rise. Raise your chain up further, and try to swallow while holding your throat.
2. Put your tongue out and stretch this our so that you lessen incidence of snoring. Rotate your head while your tongue is out.
Another charlatan advice. But I find this improving my breathing.

Counter pain
Live healthy and long
The same guys who were with me in the wake told me that one of the principles of curing among Chinese is to fight pain with pain (counter pain). This is where acupuncture, acupressure, evolved.
It it is painful, beat the painful part. Then came the sharp bamboo sticks to insert into the meridien, and later the gold needles.
The practitioner I met prefer to use sharp pencils or ball pen.
The other one prefers sharp finger pressure to the pressure points

What various activities can do to your internal organs
Live healthy and long
Last night I was in a wake of former classmate who succumbed to a heart attack.
It so happenned that on the table where I sat there were two alternative medicine (Chinese) practitioners.
Here is what various activities in excess can do to your internal organs (as per the practitioners)
l. Walking/running/biking - liver
2. Computer/table works - heart
3. Standing - bladder/kidney
4, Sitting - abdomen, gut.
So what you do? Balance. If you are standing for too long as SG, squat for a while. If you are sitting for quite a while, stretch and walk. Biking may not take more than 30 minutes.
The Greeks have a word for it: moderation. Buddha said, too much for anything is a poison
