From Dr. Mercola archives | June 27, 2013

About 41 million Americans sleep less than 6 hours a day and run the risk of having chronic inflammation and heart disease (inflammation causes constriction of blood vessels) and poor circulation.   2.5x more than those who dont.

Sleeping late has the following disadvantage:

l.  Poor memory;

2.  Weakened immune system

3.  Accelerate tumor growth;

4.  Causes pre diabetic stage

Avoid sleeping pills though because they cause amnesia and risk of dying.

Sleep is the result of interaction between sleepiness  and noise.  If noise is greater than sleepiness you cannot sleep:

Tips for getting enough sleep:

l.  Have  a sleep sanctuary.  maintain temp between 60 -80 degrees F.

2.  Stop using gadgets before going to bed.

3.  Exercise before going to bed

4.  Alcohol tends to prevent good good night sleep

  1. Sleeping is really something that is essential to a person's mind and body, as it is the source of our energy for our work or daily routine for the following day. I myself would admit that I am not in my best when I lack sleep. A person's body needs to be well-rested because it could not function well and work well. And nobody wants a poor performance, whether it is at work, at school, or even in your own home. Sleeping is restoring your body's lost energy that has been gone during a whole day of work and play. *^_^* Ma. Jo
