Some disturbing notes on mammography

Live healthy and long

From Dr. Mercola archives

This is rather disturbing:   the debate between business and health.

For instance mammography:  for every life that is saved, 3 will be misdiagnosed or overtreated:  and will undergo chemo, surgery or radiation and may be disturbing for the over treated patient.

According to Cochrane Database of Systemic review, this 30% increase risk for non patient by 0.5 while risk of dying from breast cancer is 0.05.  Will you buy the 0.5 or the 0.05%.  The practice being observed is 2x per year mammo, while it can be reduced to every other year.  Why is not being done?

Because much of the money in breast cancer is in mammography, plus the ensuing revenues.

Better to lead a healthy lifestyle to prevent cancer:

l.  Avoid sugar;

2.  Limit protein

3.  Exercise regularly

4.  Balance leptin and insulin

Lead a healthy lifestyle instead
