A large number of Americans are insomniacs (about 30 million);   about 50% of people over 75 are suffering from this malady.  Now taking sleeping pills could be harmful if not addictive.

There are several natural ways (there are 13 and they are free and cheap) which you may adopt in order for you to cure your insomnia:

l.  Be consistent with your bedtime, even on holidays;  altering you bedtime will alter your biological clock;

2.  Do not go to bed past midnight;  this is the surest way to alter your biological clock;

3.  Unwind before going to bed;  no exercise, no reading no TV, 1 hour before bedtime.
