New cure for leukemia - the Penn experiment

Live healthy and long

From NBC News Cancer News

The Penn experiment may show great promise for leukemia cure.  For many years, leukemia is held at bay by radiation  therapy and bone marrow transplant.  Bone marrow transplant risks infection.

The Penn experiment involves injecting  HIV genes into the white blood cell of the patient.so that they will grow vigorously to attack and destroy cancerous blood cells. The white blood cells are allowed to grow and later on injected to the patient.  The experiment shows great promise.  We do not know what will happen next.

Many cancer cures do not enter mainstream medicine because they lack further testing to support the FDA requirements for approval
