Remember my post on sprouts? They are one of the most nutritious foods being 400x to 500x more nutritious than ordinary foods. This was even mentioned in the book of Daniels in the scripture. It was also posted that sprouts (baby Brocolli were effective in controlling H pylori in the stomach)
In the article of WHF, (Worlds Healthiest Food) several benefits of the brussel sprouts were mentioned:
l. When steamed, it helps the liver excrete bile thus lowering cholesterol. Can you beat that? As a good substitute from memory zapping, diabetes causing statins?
2. Brussel sprouts, compared to other calciferous vegies score better in glucosalinate. The other calciferous vegies are cauliflower, cabbage, cabbage, turnip greens, kale and cauliflower.
3. They are effective in protecting DNA (that leads to mutation and cancer) by blocking the activity of sulfotransferase.
4. Brussel sprouts contain the following glucosalinate that are responsible for its action vs cancer:
gluco raphanin
glucobrassicini
sinigrin
gluconasturtiian
Nutrients analysis show this to be rich in Vit A, K, C, and minerals potassium and magnesium
