Now Mismatched Organ Donation is Possible without Rejection and Anti Rejection Drugs.

Effective Cures Can be Cheap

It is now possible to do organ transplant without massive doses of anti rejection drugs which weaken the body of the donee and make him succeptible diseases.  The anti rejection drug suppresses the body's immunity system.  The same body cells that fight germs cause the tissue rejection.  To stop the tissue rejection, the body.s army must be put on a slow mode through the immuno suppressive drugs.

Enter chimerism or use of stem cells to from donor organ to condition the donees immune system.  Thus there are two parallel bone marrow stem cells at work.  One method calls for he grafting of stem cells from the donor but is quite risky especially for kidney transplant.

This method draws from the work of Australian immunologist Sir Frank MacFarlane Burnet. 1960 Nobel Prize winner zoologist  Peter Medawar who discovered who discovered that immune system in animals can be trained to tolerate foreign tissues.

The new method does promise better quality of life for the donee who does not have to risk getting disease from depressed immunity system.

There was this doctor who did an operation using the trachea of pig at Clinica Madrid who simply immersed the pigs trachea and bronchus coated with the donees stem cells. The same results were obtained.
