Live healthy and long

From Easy Health Options by Dr. Mark Wiley | February 6, 2013

The strategy of Dr. Wiley has been to change the habits of the patient so that he can be well;  he also focusses on wellness. Diseases are preventable when we change our lifestyle.  One such disease is heart attack.  Over a million Americans get heart attacks annually.

Heart attack because of the narrowing of the blood vessels of the heart caused by several factors:  inflammation, and/or calcification of the blood vessels.  This is accompanied by several symptoms like:  nausea, sweating, dizziness, heaviness and pain at the chest especially below the breastbone, discomfort, weakness, rapid and irregular heartbeat.

Here are some tips to prevent heart attacks:

l.  Know your risk -  if you smoke, is overweight, you eat sugary food, fatty food, do not exercise....

2.  Avoid energy drinks.  The risk of getting a heart attack doubles if you consume too much energy drink.  Energy drink contain large concentration of taurine and caffeine that put your body and heart into constant state of high alert and activity and may tire out the heart in the long run  <there were several known deaths attributed in our town because of taking energy drink after a drinking spree>

3.  Drink more water especially before going to bed or taking a bath;

4.  Eat more berries - these dilate the blood vessels preventing occlusion and attacks
