Statins poison enzyme producing cholesterol; damages muscles

Statins, a widely used drug to lower cholesteroldamage muscles, according to a study of  the December issue of Muscle and Nerve.  Experimental animals using statins exhibited greater structural damage than those that did not.

Enzymes lower lipid level by poisoning enzyme called: HMG -Coa Reductase limiting cholesterol production.  But is cholesterol unnecessary?  When one is injured, the first thing that the body does is to increase cholesterol production.

The WHO data also shows inverse relationship between cholesterol and death rate. ie higher cholesterol level means lower death rate...
