Mechanism of  Action.

A normal cell produces energy via mitochondria in the presence of oxygen.  However, when there is low oxygen, the cell shifts into glycolysis, and mitochondria stops working.  However, this continues even if he supply of oxygen returns, and is known as Warburg effect  (Dr. Otto Warburg is the father of the oxygen therapy for cancer.)



DCA (aka Cerinase) is a metabolic drug not originally intended for cancer.  It revitalizes the mitochondria to produce more energy.

In the cancer situation, DCA causes reversal to mitochondrial activities, causes cancer cells to lose immortality, and consequently die.  In clinical trials, cancer tumors shrank with application of DCA.

Michelakis Evangelis and Archer Stephen tested of Department of Medicine,  Universityof Albertatested DCA on human tissue cancer cells  found this to kill cancer cells but not normal cells;  it was likewise effective when DCA laced water were drank by experimental rats infected with human cancer cells

Now this drug would not be available to public:

l.  There is no FDA approval as there is no

2.  Clinical trial because there is no sponsor or pharma who would do it;

3.  Because it is a non patentable drug and is available everywhere;  and pharmas can not make money out of it;  as what is happening with many drugs that are no longer manufactured because pharmas do not make money on them.

There is one downside to this DCA;  as to whether given at therapeutic levels, there is no toxicity.  Again we  do not know because of lack of clinical testing.  But pharma companies must be scrambling how to develop a molecule to mimic action of DCA at the Kreb cycle.(to block the kinase in step in Kreb cycle.)

 We hope that the toxicity problem or less toxic substitute to DCA can be found;  and at last the cure for cancer has been found.
