FDA Warnings on Statins

Effective Cures Need Not be Expensive

This is a newsfeed from Newsmax Health. It tells us about the latest FDA warnings on the statins marketed under the ethical names:   Lipitor for Pfizer, Merk's Zocor, and Astra Zeneca's Crestor.  The warnings say that statins may cause diabetes, and loss of memory. In USA, the statins are used by some 20 million patients.  Its role on prevention of heart attacks can not be doubted;  however, the side effects must be considered and patients must be made aware of the risk.

The article recommends that supplements to recover the CoQl0 be done instead;   this substance is lost (excreted when one takes statin)  and avoidance of even the vegetable fat canola oil, sunflower, peanut soya oil,  that are being promoted as beneficial;   they are oxidized before they are taken in and that causes inflammation of blood vessels leading to atherosclorosis.  Better are extra virgin olive oil, omega 3 oil  and N.B. (good news for PHL coconut producers)COCONUT OIL.  (Where did the other oil producers get the crap on coconut oil?)  To be avoided further are MSG, soy protein concentrates, hydrolyzed protein, and autolyzed yeast causes production of free radicals.  Having had a root canal increases the risk of heart attacks so with gum diseases.  So a good periodental health is essential.

Food high in glycemic index should be avoided

The continued use of statins cause loss of essential fats that are necessary for neurological health.  The risk of having Lou Gehrig disease or having hemorrhagic  stroke is increased plus the l4 fold risk of having neuropathies that lead to loss of sensation and mobility.   Read on:

 Warning on Statins

Good substitutes for statin would be:  curcumin, white tea catechins, magnesiums, tocopherols, tocotrienols etc and the like.

Other substitutes for statins would be:

Of course stress is to be avoided, there must be regular exercise, and taking in of anti oxidants.
