Dear
A close friend recently told me she has breast cancer. It's a devastating diagnosis but the prospect of treatment is even more terrifying for her.
Chemotherapy, the "gold standard" of cancer treatment, destroys cancer cells but wreaks havoc on healthy cells. That leads to weakened immunity and horrible side effects like anemia, fatigue, nausea, and stigmatizing hair loss.
Unfortunately, drug companies have not yet found the "Holy Grail" therapy that will target only the cancer and bypass healthy cells. But there is good news.
Exciting research into plant remedies reveals powerful substances that naturally target cancer while protecting healthy cells. Today, I'll tell you about two compounds you can start using right now to help lower your risk of developing a wide range of cancers.
Piper Longum and Grape Seed Extract
Proven to Target Cancer Cells
Piper longum is an Ayurvedic spice traditionally used to enhance longevity. Hippocrates mentioned its medicinal properties as early as the 5th century B.C.
In a breakthrough study from Harvard University in 2011, piper longum potently inhibited the growth of breast cancer tumors and metastasis while leaving healthy cells unharmed.
That finding opened the research floodgates for piper longum. This year Thai researchers found that it prevented lung cancer cells from propagating by cutting off their ability to communicate with each other.

And South Korean researchers found that piper longum stopped prostate cancer cells from growing or metastasizing.

These studies are so promising that The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is sponsoring research for the use of piper longum in breast cancer prevention.
Unlike piper longum, grape seed extract is a modern discovery of the 1970s. Derived from the ground up seeds of red wine grapes, it contains powerfully concentrated antioxidants.
In a Chinese study, 78% of leukemia cells exposed to grape seed extract self-destructed within 24 hours.
And a study of head and neck cancers found tumor growth decreased by up to 67% in mice fed grape seed extract - with no toxic effects.
How can you put this cutting-edge research to work for you?
Start Reducing Your Risk of Cancer Naturally Right Now
Piper longum is used as a spice in India, North Africa and Indonesia. You're unlikely to find it in American spice racks, but you can buy it online.
In this country, you can get the same active ingredient in piper longum by eating broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, collards, cauliflower, kale, mustard greens, turnips, and rutabagas.
There are also piper longum supplements but you'll most likely see them sold under its chemical name, indole-3-carbinol. Take 200 to 800 mg per day.
Grape seed extract is much more potent than eating grapes, drinking wine or using grape seed oil. As a supplement, you can take 25 to 150 mg one to three times daily. Just don't overdo it. Too much may trigger headache, dizziness, nausea or a dry, itchy scalp.
Life Extension makes a grape seed extract with resveratrol and pterostilbene, two other powerful grape antioxidants. (I have no financial ties to Life Extension, it's simply a recommendation.)
Wishing you strength and vitality,
Jason Kennedy
