Live healthy and long |August 21, 2013
I visited Ben, a fellow biker, who complained of at the hip. His self diagnosis was that it was arthritis. I analyzed that it was not possible that he would have such a rapid onset of OsteoArthritis, considering that he biked and he has a healthy lifestyle.
I interviewed him and said that he hammered an angle bar while helping a steel worker at an unusual position and afterwards, he had this pain. He said that the pain only occurred at certain posture. So it could not be OA; it should be just a strain or pulled muscle (at the glute)
My advice: (he calls me Sir Doc):
l. Continue with the hot compress
2. Do slow maybe 5x stretch routine of the opposing thigh muscles; also stretch by dropping the painful thigh/glue at the side of the bed.
3. Avoid straining the back, thigh and glute (including refraining from doing his duty as a husband for a while until he gets well.
4. Use topical analgesics (as deep heat)
5. Put coconut oil that has been impregnated with yellow ginger and wrap with plastic. When there is sweat that form on the plastic; put dry cloth to protect the affected area from cold.
I hope he gets well soon
