Dangers of Shaving Pubic Hair

Live healthy and long

From Dr. Mercola Archives | April 3, 2013

Shaving pubic hair may be cute for most females, and this may have its origin in ancient times.  But it causes risk of viral STD.  One of these is molluscum contagiosum.  This is more common in children, but can be contacted by adults because of weakened immune system.

Study suggests that there is a marked increase in the number of those who were infected with the disease because of shaving the pubic hair.  Other diseases that may be contracted because of shaving are:   bacterial skin infections, warts from HPV,  ingrown hair, scars.

Pubic hair have purposes why they are there:   maintaining temperature, preventing dirt and bacteria from entering body, reduces friction (no direct contact between thighs and scrotum or labia) and increases tactile touch.

So shave and be infected?
