In the US where half of the population drinks a soda drink a day, or a sweetened drink,  obesity can be problem.  And obesity can cause a lot of health problem  - from heart disease to diabetes.  Even more so, fructose from HFCS can be hard on the liver just like alcohol.

The problem is linked to l88,000 deaths worldwide:   133,000 from diabetes death, 44,000 heart disease deaths, and 6,000 cancer deaths.  Mexico had the highest death rates from sugary drinks, US comes in third, and Bangladesh is the lowest.

The Mercola article warns readers not to fall for the latest big soda products:   like "Fruit water"  The article also considers bottled water is not safe because of BPA and pthtlates in bottled water.
